MY SEARCH SEEMED LIKED LOOKING FOR THAT OASIS IN THE DESERT.
That first step was to discuss the issue with my doctor to see what he recommends. He referred to me to the weight loss clinic. (Been there, done that before), but hey let's try again. Again, diet and exercise. I inquired about the shot or a pill. I wasn't eligible for the shot as my A1C was not quite high enough for them. They did prescribe a pill, sorry I have a memory loss as to what it was because when I went to pay for it, the cost was $900 a month. Needless to say, I couldn't afford that.
THE MIRACLE SHOT THAT EVERYONE IS TAKING. Both my son and daughter-in-law were taking Mournjaro with great success. So on my trip to visit my son and daughter-in-law in Texas, she tried to get me on her program. Nope, being from California, I wasn't eligible. I return to California to find it and found a couple places, but they were out of them. Finally ended up at Walmart Pharmacy of all places. The gal was real nice and did some research and found out that because I was on Medicare, I was ineligible. (My doctor wasn't too keen on this idea anyway.) All doors were closing. I didn't know what to do. I was getting discouraged.
LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. . . A POSSIBLE SOLUTION. I found a diet doctor in my town and made an appointment. They had a shot similar to the Mournjaro, but they were out of it and didn't know when they would get it in. (Bang goes that door!) But they did offer to start me on a program with a weight control pill and a B12 Fat Burner shot every two weeks at a reasonable price. (Again, my doctor wasn't exactly on board, but I'm getting desperate at this point.) I decided to try it.
THE "PILL" ALONE WON'T WORK. . . I NEED A PROGRAM. I needed an exercise program to go along with this "diet" plan. I had been using an online program before that I liked called, Grow Young Fitness. It's a program geared toward seniors. I would start that also. But I needed more. I need a way to access if it is working, so I started a stats journal. Using my Fitbit watch, I started recording my stats daily. They included water and calorie intake, steps, activity hours and sleep. I transferred this to a stat sheet that I developed. I also made one up for my weekly weigh ins and measurement. (Do not weigh each day or you will get upset). I also decided to journal my experience, which I did daily, with a recap weekly and an evaluation at the end of each month.
