GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY Yeh, right . . . Not for the faint of heart.

Not for me. . .I’m going to go out kicking and fighting.

WHEN DO WE ACTUALLY START “AGING”

Right from birth, we start the aging process. Little did we know in our youth that

ree

what we did in our youth would affect us as we age and how we would come full circle. God has a sense of humor in that if you think about it.

BABIES TO TODDLERS

We depend on others for our daily needs. We waddle when we walk and keep

having to learn new things to excel in our daily lives.

YOUTH TO TEENS

We are becoming more independent and more adventuresome. We are

invincible and know it all. (Don’t we sometimes wish we could go back to those back to those days?)

YOUNG ADULTS TO MIDDLE AGE

As we mature, we accept that we aren’t invincible. We don’t know it all and our

parents have become so much wiser than when we were teens. We develop knowledge and experience.

SENIORS AND “OLD AGE”

We have years of experience and knowledge, but no one wants to hear about it.

We sometimes feel alone and left out. We may have to depend on others. In this

age of computers, we may have to learn new things each day to excel in our daily

lives. Our bodies are not invincible, in fact, they are wearing out. Joints are cracking, we waddle when we walk and our balance isn't what it used to be. Our minds want to be adventuresome, but our bodies rebel.

Do we “give up”? NO!

We embrace what we have and be thankful for what God has given us. As I like to

say, “I’m in pretty good shape for the shape I’m in.
